| Most people think of a backyard fire pit as only an ambient feature. For most fire pits, there is a way to use them for cooking too. Some are simple, using a cheap grate placed over the fire or coals. Others are more elaborate (like the Round Rock Fire Pit) and have all kinds of accessories. Either way, if you'll be cooking with the fire, you will need some special tools. For a fire pit, longer tools are safer and easier to use. It's nice to have a blo-poke handy too if you need to stoke the coals a bit.
